Major Bug in EAP225-Outdoor(US) Firmware 1.20.0 Build 20200422 Rel. 70543 "client list disappears"
Hi All,
I've been running OC200 + 4-5x EAP225 Outdoor US version for months now. They run remote Ring.com security cameras around our HOA, very nicely.
I was excited when to improve the performance, the latency of Ring.com security cameras..and all improved when upgrading 1.20.0 Build 20200422 Rel. 70543 firmware for them. However, the client list disappears and loses all history. The EAP devices keep working, in fact the latency of cameras improved, live stream resolution improved over 1.7.0 Build 20200113 Rel. 35383 previous firmware.
I just rolled the AP's back to previous firmware 1.7.0 Build 20200113 Rel. 35383 - and the user client list has restored... but all the latency/lag on live view of some Ring.com cameras has degraded again. Still works, but sluggish again.
Seems like TP-link really improved the performance of the mesh between 1.7.0 and 1.20.0 builds, but man heck of a bug to introduce "disappearing client/user list"
I'll skip the screenshots for now - is there a stable 1.19 build perhaps (that has most all the performance fixes, better than 1.7.0, but keep the client / user list alive)?
Thanks guys, or quickly fix this and put out Build 1.21 - pretty please!?

PoSiTiVeFLoW, interesting to hear that the firmware has major improvements. Probably it's some stuff from WiFi-6 applying also to older standards, which was used to enhance the firmware. Thanks for the info, this made me curios what to expect from the new firmwares ...

@R1D2 - well major for me, perhaps I'm a bit too happy. But yes the Ring-cams on the 2nd-hop mesh points, not on the ones directly wired in via Nanostation bridge connection to my router... now have higher resolution on "live cam" view and pull up faster, like the ones that are effectively hardwired.
Also the "refresh cycles" on the cams are faster, like the hardwired ones in the Ring.com "preview" grid of all the cams.

I tried this and after rolling it back to firmware 1.7.0, my AP can no longer by Adopted on my controller. Usernames and passwords no longer work :(
I'm stuck on Username/Password for the AP, loosing all my client's connection. AP is now using default WiFi names, with no authentication, everyone who will connect to it will be able to use free internet.
Rolled back both OC200 and EAP255-Outdoor firmware, still username/password for EAP doesn't work. Both my old username/password and default ones.

@hashrack - this has been resolved, what the question?
The issue was the fact I tried to upgrade my EAPs to the SDN firmware, prior to the release of OC-200 matching firmware for SDN.. this caused the client list to lose synch, until both controller and EAP are on SDN together..

already fixed my issue by doing hard reset on my eap225-outdoor

@Talknfeel - Hi - did you read the thread? It's been solved...
Not sure why people do the "Tag" without a question. Pleas read to the bottom. Just update both controller and EAPs now - no issue - my issue was I was updating EAP to the SDN, prior to the OC-200 controller having matching firmware to get it onto SDN.
That has been resolved, both are upgraded, on the SDN, running my Ring.com camera network really nicely, less lag than previous builds and better client / load management - choosing which APs, etc.
So that's my last post on this subject, going to unsub now - as the issue is solved, folks need to read here.
