Hello we are trying to use 6 of these routers in different locations to talk back to one central location using VPN connections. The problem I am having is that I need all 6 sites to be on the same subnet to talk back to a monitoring device we have at site 1. Is there a way to make all six sites talk on the same subnet of 192.168.1.0 instead using different subnets the monitoring device does not appear to be smart enough to handle the routes. From Site 1 I can ping all the equipment at the other 5 sites.
Site 1 Static 1.1.1.1
Router 192.168.1.254
Equipment 1 192.168.1.101
Equipment 2 192.168.1.102
Monitoring 192.168.1.100
Site 2 Static 2.2.2.2
Router 192.168.2.254
Equipment 1 192.168.2.105
Equipment 2 192.168.2.106
so on and so forth for the other sites so the equipment at site 2 needs to talk to the monitoring device at site one. Maybe I am just doing it wrong but it would be so much easier if I could put all the sites on the 192.168.1.0 subnet. Is a VPN connection not the right way to get these to talk to each other. can I just setup come kind of static route in the routing table to talk to each site? Any kind of help would be much appreciated I have some experience with networking but not much.
