Model: EAP211-Bridge KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have 6 EAP211 units. 2 pairs (4 units) are hardware v1, 1 pair (2 units)  are hardware v2. All 3 pairs works without any problem. Now I would like to make PtMP with two v1 units (one as uplink, one as client) and one v2 as client. I have problem connection v2 client to v1 main unit. If I put main unit v2 next next to main unit v1, v2 client sees v2 uplink and connects to it without any problem, but can't connect to v1 main unit. Also I can switch main (uplink) unit for v1 clients (they see both v1 original main units), but I can't switch uplink for v2 client, it sees only v2 uplink unit. If I unplug uplink unit v2, v2 client is completely disconnected and I can't see it in Omada controller (HW controller OC300 1.0, firmware 1.28.2 Build 20250110 Rel.74960, controller version 5.15.8.12 .

Is it possible to make a PtP or PtMP connection between v1 a v2 hardware or is there anything else I'm missing?

  @NeoCZ

Just confirmed, we can't build a bridge with different hardware. They differ a lot.

That is to say, EAP211-bridge KIT V1 can't build a wireless bridge with EAP2112-bridge V2.

Sorry for the confusion before.

  I've noticed mention of new firmware in OC300 Global view -> firmware:

EAP211-Bridge(EU) v2.0 Release Note

1.0.2 Build 20241209 Rel. 43851

Recommended Controller Software Version: Omada Controller v5.15.6 or above

New Features/Enhancements:

1.Supports Bridge Speed Test on Standalone mode

2.Supports Client AP actively scan Main AP and join the Bridge Network

3.Supports display Bridge Network Topology

4.Supports automatic synchronization of network configuration

5.Supports Client AP been adopted automatically

6.Supports SSID DHCP server

7.Supports change the role of Bridge on P2P scenario

Bug Fixed:

1. Fixed the disconnection issue when upgrade the Bridge

Notes:

1.This version of firmware is applied to the Omada APP v4.21 or above.

Is this firmware available for download to test it? I haven't found any mention of this firmware version other than this. It seems it might solve issue I have...

EDIT: OK, it seems it a release candidate version. I tried it on both main and client AP, but issue still remains.

  @NeoCZ

Generally, TP-Link devices within the same product line (like the EAP211-Bridge KIT) should be compatible across different hardware versions. However, there can be differences in firmware support and specific features between hardware versions.

We can add 5 EAP units (one uplink and 4 clients) in one PtMP bridge, so at least two uplink units are needed.

You may use the two V2 units as the two uplink units, and the 4 V1 units as the client ones.

Problem is that both V1 clients I have now don't see V2 uplink unit, only two original V1 uplinks.
