Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.1.6 Build 20240313 Rel. 43415

I have two EAP225 access points in my home, and am running the Omada Controller software on my server at home. Once every week or so, both access points will stop functioning, within a few hours of each other. Sometimes one will stop working 15 minutes after the other stops; other times one will keep working for 3-4 hours after the other has stopped.

When they stop functioning, all wireless clients lose their connection to the access point, and the APs show as DISCONNECTED in Omada Controller. Wired clients continue to work. Rebooting the APs fixes the problem, and they begin functioning again.

At the moment, they are powered & connected via a TP-Link TL-SF1009P POE+ switch. They have been in this configuration for over a year, and have been working just fine until a a month ago, when they started having this problem. I have also tried powering the APs with the POE injectors that came with them, but this did not improve the situation.

Both APs use a static IP address, and their addresses are outside of the range used by the DHCP server.

Any ideas on what might be going on here?

Another data point - one of the APs went offline two days ago, after having been up for only a day or two. The other is still online.

  • I can't ping the offline device or access its web interface
  • The light on the offline device is still solid green

I am having exact same issue with two EAP225-V4s, one wired and one meshed. Both use their POE power supplies provided by TPLink, and the OC200 sees them as "disconnected" . They will not come back on line without a power cycle. It happens between 2 and 3 days continuously.

I can't find any log or other method to track what is happening, so that I can fix it.

I got three EAP 225 HW Version 3.0.

Unfortuntely despite reading on this forum that new firmware that will fix the memory overflow issue is coming in february.

It did not come... Its March now.

Versions 3.2 and above received minor release

Can we get more clarification why HW 3.0 did not get fixed?

Please make this update. I am staying at older version but I think its just wrong to be so outdated.
