EAP225 Sudden Disconnections
Hi!
We are always encountering sudden disconnection from time to time its just 1 or 2 or 3 out of 8 but there are times that all 8 APs are disconnected at the same time.
We have 8 EAP225 for the office, with average clients of 100. The Omada software is installed in a PC connected to a TP-Link TL-SG2428P (Network switch) which all APs are connected as well with POE. Our main router/gateway to the internet is a Peplink balance 380 router.
Already enabled internally the Omada ports listed here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/3281/
What causes these disconnections and how can I resolve it?
Thanks,

Hi @LIVEPH-IT
There is some known issue on the firmware 5.1.6; we are working on it; the issue will be fixed in the next firmware release.
Now that the Internet is not affected, you may disable the notification for the time.
Or you can downgrade the EAP firmware to the older one for a temporary workaround.

Hi @LIVEPH-IT
We need more details to understand the issue:
1. Is the controller PC running 24/7?
2. When the EAP disconnected, is the Internet affected?
3. You said that there was sometime all 8 EAP units are disconnected at the same time, at that moment, is the main router still working? Can you still see the SSID?
4. Will the wired network affected?
5. What's the firmware version of the controller and the EAPs?

@Vincent-TP Hi!
Thank you for the reply.
1. Is the controller PC running 24/7? Yes, it is running 24/7
2. When the EAP disconnected, is the Internet affected? No
3. You said that there was sometime all 8 EAP units are disconnected at the same time, at that moment, is the main router still working? Can you still see the SSID? No SSID as well, network switch still running as well as the main router is still running.
4. Will the wired network affected? No, I actually connects to network switch when outage happens.
5. What's the firmware version of the controller and the EAPs? EAP225(US) v4.0 5.1.6 Build 20240313 Rel. 43415
Looking forward to a resolution.

Hi!
To clarify. There's no SSID as well as WiFi Connection, those connected in wifi disconnects as well. But there is still internet coming from the network switch if you are connected thru a cable.
