Hi TP-Link Community,

Our organization has been using the Omada ecosystem for the past year. We are running the router ER605 v2.0, EAP245(US) v3.0, and EAP225(US) v5.0, with the Omada controller running on Windows.

For several months, the network operated perfectly, but I recently began noticing some issues. Some laptops get disconnected suddenly, without any load increase on the controller. Although we’ve set a broadband limit of 200 Mbps for the SSID, the network often operates at only 80 Mbps or even lower on some machines. Occasionally, the network stops working altogether. To temporarily fix this, I’ve had to reboot the device, which restores the connection. I can confirm there are no issues from our carrier’s side—this seems to be a hardware-related problem.

Another recurring issue is that the internet connection drops for all connected clients with no apparent reason, and this has been happening daily. I recently noticed new firmware updates and a controller update and hoped they would resolve the problem. However, after updating, the issue has progressively worsened. I am now at the point where I need to reboot the equipment every four hours. Sometimes, the reboot doesn’t even work, and I have to physically power the device off at the outlet, wait a bit, and turn it back on.

Interestingly, my local connection remains unaffected; I can still access the controller and other servers without issues. However, for some reason, the internet connection just breaks.

This is a very strange issue, and it doesn’t seem to make any sense. I’m almost convinced it’s a firmware problem. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as this issue is becoming extremely frustrating.

Kind Regards,
Vaishnavi Ghuge
