Unable to download large videos from C325WB CCTV camera
I've used my Tapo C325WB for over 6 months now and regularly capture clips from the playback view using the "record" option whilst watching them. I then can download them and they appear in the Photos app on my phone.
This week I've done the same as I have before, however the files are not viewable when downloaded. I've narrowed the problem down to the files size. If I download 15 minutes it works, if I do larger amounts of say an hour it's not playable when downloaded.
To be clear, I have downloaded files of an hour's length before - it's just now that these large files fail.
Please help as I'm having to chunk up downloads into 15 minutes chunks to be able to get them downloaded and this isn't sustainable
I've also reported this through the Tapo App with some screen shots

Hi,
In what scenarios do you need to record the video manually on the Tapo app > camera's Playback page for a long time?
If your video recordings are all saved on the SD card, you can remove the SD card from the camera, connect it to the PC via an SD card adapter, and then copy the video recordings to the PC.
Or you can try to use your phone/tablet's Screen Recorder feature to record the videos when you watch them on the playback page, the recorded videos will be stored on your phone.

@Solla-topee the camera is mounted 20ft up on the roof so not really accessible to go up and access the SD card and as for using the mobile devices screen record, again not really practical.
This used to work and is a function of the Tapo app so why has it stopped for big files?

Hi,
After you manually record the big files from the Playback > SD card page when watching the video recordings, can you play the recorded video on the Tapo app? Does the "Can't play video" message appear on the Tapo app or other third-party video player?

@Solla-topee yes it plays in the Tapo App. It's almost like the download to the phone/tablet device isn't complete, but if left it for a day & it never completes or gives an error message in the tapo app that the download isn't complete

Hi,
This problem is weird. Have you tried to download the video recordings manually on a different phone or tablet? If not, you may have a try.
An alternative workaround is using the Clip & Download SD card videos feature on the camera to download the video recordings from the SD card. The length of the clipped videos should be within 10 minutes, however, you can select the start and end time when downloading the videos, which won't let you miss any wanted video recordings.

@Solla-topee I've been able to play/record/download but only in chunks. Using the Clip option would be worse as the clips are only 10 minutes.
Can I clarify, when you use the Record option from the playback view in the tapo app, does that get saved to the camera and then only loaded to the phone/tablet when you do a download, or is it saved direct to the phone/tablet when recording?

Hi,
When you use the Record option on the Tapo app > Playback page to record video:
1. If your phone has disabled the "Access files and media" permission to the Tapo app, the video will be saved on the Tapo app > camera's Live View > Playback & Download > Download page. You need to select the video on the Download page and then download it to your phone. Then you can see it on your phone's gallery.
2. If your phone has enabled the "Access files and media" permission to the Tapo app, the video will be saved on the Tapo app > Download page and your phone's gallery automatically.
