C325WB camera IP compatibility
C325WB camera IP compatibility
Is the C325WB camera an IP camera? I want to use it with my Synology NAS and Surveillance Station and they support IP cameras. The C320WS is listed as compatible so I'm hoping that the C325WB is also.

Hi,
The Tapo C325WB support the RTSP and ONVIF (Profile S) protocol, and you can watch the C325WB via Synology NAS and Surveillance Station if they support RTSP/ONVIF (Profile S) protocol.

Hello. I have two c325wb cameras, and planning to use them with Synology Surveillance station.
ONVIF and RTSP is better than nothing, but are you planning to support native integration with Synology to allow:
- person, line crossing detection as opposed to simply motion detection - in third party systems like Surveillance station.
- two-way audio?
Competitors like Reolink offer native integration via Reolink's own protocol.
I would very much like to use Synology's DS Cam app as a single app for everything related to my cameras.
Thank you.

@GeorgeWhite did you manage to find out if the AI detection feature will be available in Synology, or it's just plain streaming and storing purposes,, and I have to use Tapo app for all the AI features? I am toying between C325 vs C425, and the main advantage C325 has is the nas integration. But I am not sure if it's worth it, or it's just giving me the option of cloud storage via my own nas. Thanks for your advise.

@sniknejchng @GeorgeWhite @Solla-topee would you please advise what are the limitations, if we connect C325WB to Synology NAS as a ONVIF?

Hi,
If you want to stream the camera's live feed via ONVIF on the Synology NAS that supports the ONVIF protocol, there is no problem, and below are the instructions.
How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol?

Thank you for your prompt feedback.
When connecting Tapo C325WB via ONVIF (to Synology NAS), are the following features still supported?
ColorPro Night Vision
2K QHD Live View
Person/Animal/Vehicle Detection (Smart AI)
Customizable Motion Detection
In addition to that, the Tapo C325BW camera can be used/monitored at the same time (concurrently) by TP-Link Tapo app and Synology NAS app?

Hi,
The ColorPro Night Vision, Person/Animal/Vehicle Detection, and Customizable Motion Detection features can't be configured or changed on the Synology NAS when the camera connects to it via ONVIF. If the camera selects 2K video quality on the Tapo app and you stream it via the mainstream(high-quality stream1), you can watch the 2K live feed via ONVIF.
Each camera supports up to 4 simultaneous video streams (2 main streams+2 sub streams). You could use up to 4 devices to view the live feed of the camera simultaneously using the Tapo app or via RTSP.
