Model: SG2008P
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 3.20.1 Build 20240115 Rel.72847

After upgrading my software controller from 5.12 to 5.14, two of my switches are stuck "adopting". These two switches are connected via wifi mesh networking. A third ethernet-connected switch connects without problems.

Excerpts from the controller process output:

device of status ADOPTING_PENDING_PRE_ADOPT time out for <MAC>
device <MAC> server route expired, send adopting / connected timeout event
Device <MAC> is AdoptSuccessTimeout
DeviceMac(<MAC>) receive discovery when adopting, times[3] reach limit, set adopt fail

I'm running mbentley/omada-controller:5.14 using docker-compose.

Hi @j24

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Recommend you try this with the latest firmware of the switch.

If it does not work out, try the software controller installed to a PC and test if it can successfully adopt to determine if this is a problem residing in the instance controller or the controller.

Hi, @Clive_A

Thanks for the reply. I realized this was due to recently switching DHCP servers. The new DHCP server doesn't have option 138 set yet. I'm not able to set it yet, but I'm pretty sure it will resolve this issue once I do.
