Model: EAP650-Outdoor   OC200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi All,

I have a hardware OC200 connected to TL-SG2210P POE switch and five (5) units of EAP650-Outdoor hardwired in the main building. Additionally, I have another five (5) units EAP650-Outdoor wireless around the estate for connectivity and seamless roaming. All the APs are adopted and meshed before deployment.

I am trying to strengthen my mesh coverage on the estate with the following idea.

In one of my zones where the EAP650-Outdoor is wireless meshed, I would like to power it via TL-SG2210P POE switch or SG-2005P PD Outdoor POE switch and subsequently connect two (2) or three (3) EAP650-Outdoor APs on that new POE switch.

This new POE switch is not wired back to the main building where the main switch is.

Would this setup work?

Appreciate any replies and thank you very much.

Hi @GLow75

Sure the mesh EAP can be powered by the PoE switch, meanwhile this mesh EAP can be the Internet source for the other EAP wired to the switch. You can make a simple test, when you power on the mesh EAP with a PoE switch which is not connecting to the front switch, connect a PC/laptop to this switch, you will also get Internet from the switch.
