I am currently using 3 x Netgear Orbi Pro 6 Mini's but I can not make them run reliably (not the only one as far as I can see), so I am considering replacing them with three TP-Link Omada EAP653 Access Points which people seem to like. I am running 3 VLAN's across the ethernet and WiFi network which si why I bought the Netgear Orb Pro as it can do this.

I enclose an image below of what I crrently have (blue bacground) and what I am planning, which I think is fairly self explanatory. Indeed this is almost exactly what I have already got if you just replace the 3 EAP653 with my Netgear Orbi Pro Mini's.
The PFSense firewall is acting as the router between the different VLAN's.
So my questions are:

1: Will this work?
2. What is the shopping list other than the 3 x EAP653's and associated 12v PSU's. (I will run the Omada controller as software on a Windows Server.)

Help would be GREATLY appreciated,

  @justinhow

Hey

Provided that you are confident enough setting up the VLANs using the PFSense and TP Link Easy Switch, then technically nothing stopping you doing this.  However you would need to have the Omada controller connected to the switch also, this cant be trailed off the MESH.

My one concern is the VLAN 30 from the APs to the wired.  Never tried applying a VLAN to this, so not sure how that would work tbh.  In theory it should be OK :)

  @Philbert

Thanks for that.

The network structure including the VLAN setup is all up and working currently as the Netgear's support multiple SSID's and VLANS.
I just need to swap out the Netgear Orbi Pro Mini's if I can't make them more reliable. The shame is that feature wise the Netgear's are perfect for me.
