Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.1.2 Build 20230210 Rel.62992

I have a Archer MR200 v1 Firmware Version:0.9.1 1.2 v004a.0 Build 180502 Rel.53881n with a SIM card and connected on the WAN/LAN1 Port. Of course the port is configured as backup WAN port. There is a dhcp server running on the Archer MR200 10.8.11.1/24. Shocked I can see the MR200 DHCP  Server on the ER605 LAN. The ER605 V2 does not seem to set the MAC address correctly when I configured the WAN/LAN1 Port. It seems to leave the MAC from LAN. Here the output of an NMAP scan which is running on the LAN from the ER605 V2:

Pre-scan script results:
| broadcast-dhcp-discover:
|   Response 1 of 1:
|     IP Offered: 10.8.11.102
|     DHCP Message Type: DHCPOFFER
|     Server Identifier: 10.8.11.1
|     IP Address Lease Time: 1d00h00m00s
|     Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
|     Router: 10.8.11.1
|     Domain Name Server: 8.8.8.8, 64.6.64.6
|_    Domain Name: h.havelnet.at
Nmap done: 0 IP addresses (0 hosts up) scanned in 1.61 seconds

Does anyone know ow to address the issue? In the ER605 V2 LAN I only want to see the DHCP Server from ER605 running.

Many thanks on advance for any sort of hints,

Regards

Stepan

  @Argh2004

Hi, you can disable dhcp server on the ER605 if you don't need it, and now you have double dhcp servers in your network.

And a static route need to be set on the ER605, I think, you should point the next stop to the MR200.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.

  @Virgo thanks for the feedback.

I need DHCP on both the ER605 in order to have DHCP on LAN and in the MR200 in order to have DHCP on the backup internet LAN. This is required because there is a smart power socket connected to the MR200 WiFi which basically in case main internet is down and/or ER605 crashed completely can restart the ER605 incl. connected switch and main intenernet modem.

The whole setup work perfectly fine with the ER605 V1 on my other site. There is only the problem with the ER605 V2. It seems to bridge DHCP requests and reponses between LAN and WAN/LAN1 - which it should not do, is an bug, I am sure.

The point with the static route I did not get, I do not think static rout helps. Routing should be dynamic depending which internet provider is online/offline.
