ER605 v2 firmware 2.1.1 DHCP not working in omada
ER605 v2 firmware 2.1.1 DHCP not working in omada
Hi,
i have updated the er605 in my omada-installation to firmware 2.1.1
For one day it looks like everything is working, so i decide to update my other installations (4) also. Bad decission - today my son told me he is unable to connect to the wifi network with his phone. I checked my wifi-connections (different ssid / vlan) and that works. So i looked into the controller and find connected clients without ip-address and connected clients with wrong ip-addresses (from the wrong vlan!)
I see no way how to fix it. I´ve already rebooted the controller, the router, the ap´s - nothing change. I can´t go back to v2.0.1 - because with this firmware i had massive adoption-problems (constant rolling between connected - configuring).
Has anyone a idea?
Thanks!
Matze
Update: Tried a downgrade to 2.0.1 in my local network. Maybe it works. It tooks about 20 Minutes. When i was able to login i see the Router in state "configuring" and shortly after that "disconnected". 5 minutes later it looks like the router reached the "connected"-state. So far the downgrade may works, but some wifi clients are still without a ip / with a wrong ip...

@Fae same problem here. System worked fine for some days. Then, after ai WiFi optimization, first wifi clients did not get a new ip. After a restart of the controller, the LAN clients do also not get an ip anymore. Can you please put me on the list do be notified, when a solution is available?

Dear @Flovie,
Our engineers are working on the problem, I'll update this solution thread once the issue is addressed, welcome to subscribe.
In the meanwhile, could you please help us to confirm the following information?
Are you also using ER605 V2 2.1.1 Build 20230115?
Do you have DHCP Reservation configured in your network?
How many wireless and wired clients you have in total, and how is your DHCP IP pool configured?
What kind of wireless clients are connected in your network, what clients are suffering from the DHCP issue?

On my site i have 9 devices (oc200, er605 v2, 2x t1600g-28ts v3, 3x eap225 v3, eap225 outdoor v1, eap230 wall v1).
The network is seperated in 8 vlans and 7 ssid´s. every network has a different dhcp-pool.
"WLAN ai optimization" is activated as monthly task running every first day of the month
There are 7 active and 1 inactive dhcp reservations. the inactive reservation is from the guest-network
I see currently 47 wireless and 10 wired clients in my network.
Wireless clients are some shelly-switches, notebooks and phones. In my network only my guest-ssid is affected by the bug.

@Fae thank you for your answer. I will try my best to answer your questions. However, I had to revert back to the old firmware and reinstall and reconfigure the controller to get my internet back on all devices.
Due to the older firmware now, I cannot tell you the exact build number, but I used the omada upgrade function last Friday and i am sure that it was 2.1.1.
I have indeed DHCP reservations configured. In fact, quite a few, I guess around 50 without counting.
The DHCP pool is configured:
LAN: 10.0.100.1 - 10.0.100.254 (in 255.255.0.0)
VLAN 100: 10.100.100.1 - 10.100.100.254
A lot of iot devices are connected wirelessly and use DHCP to get the ip. At the moment of writing I have 60 devices in the network (most of them via wifi).
All devices (WiFi and ethernet) using DHCP were suffering from the issues after restarting the controller. Before restarting, but after ai WiFi optimization only wireless devices suffered from the issue.
I also used dhcpcheck from an ethernet connected device with fixed ip and received no answer. Hence, I think the DHCP service was completely down.

Dear @Matze78,
Thank you for the detailed information. If only the guest-ssid has the issue, it's likely to be a configuration issue, we may need to check the detailed configuration for analysis. Your case has already been escalated to our support engineer to look into the issue further. Could you please reply to the support ticket TKID230209349 for further assistance? If you haven't received the support email yet, please feel free to let me know.
