Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.0

Hi there,
i just bought a ER605 router for linking the office wifi with the corporate LAN.

I have 2 Omada EAP 225 senders connected to an unmanaged swich conntectet to a LAN port of the router.

The access points offer both 2 SSID's.

SSID 1: Wifi_Hybrid  with VLAN 10 connected through switch to the router.
SSID 2: Wifi_Guests with VLAN 20 connected through switch to the router.

On the LAN-Port i configured 2 LAN's with each of the both VLAN.

LAN 1: LAN_Hybrid  (192.168.201.1/24) with VLAN 10 offering IP adresses with DHCP from 192.168.201.40* to 192.168.201.254.
LAN 2: LAN_Guests (192.168.202.1/24) with VLAN 20 offering IP adresses with DHCP from 192.168.202.1     to 192.168.202.254.

* IP 192.168.201.2 to 192.168.201.39 reserved for the EAP access points.

If i now connect my notebook to the Guest-Wifi i get a ip adress and can communicate to the internet. If i connect to the Hybrid-network my notebook only sends DHCP Discoveries but is getting no DHCP offers from the LAN. Sometimes i get offers for ip adresses out of the 192.168.0.1/24 network, but why!?!

I just updated the router to the latest firmware version but still wont work.
In this attachment you can see that only in the Guest-network the dhcp work correcty.

there have been many problems with DHCP on all tp-link routers for a long time, this should probably be solved with the latest firmware upgrade, so try adding version 2.1.2 to your router, you can find it here.

yes, it looks like this, have you tagged the switch with vlan 10 and 20? or are the access points connected directly in the router?

sorry but I see you have an unmanaged switch now, you must have a managed switch to be able to use vlan,

The switch is a unmanaged one. Does a unmanaged switch remove the vlan tag? Do i need a managed switch to merge VLAN 10 on port 1 and VLAN 20 on port 2 on the uplink port 3 to VLAN 10|20?

yes, you should have a switch that you can manage, alternatively you can connect the access points directly to the router, then vlan will work on WiFi

@shberge Okay i replaced the unmanaged switch with a smart switch and configured the ports as followed:
Port 1 = Uplink VLAN 10|20
Port 2 = access point 1 VLAN 10|20
Port 3 = access point 2 VLAN 10|20

If i connect to the SSID hybrid, i get VLAN 10, if i connect to SSID Guests i should get VLAN 20.

"It is an old switch, i will replace it with tp-link" ;)
