I just purchased a ER605 V2 router and have been trying to set the upload/download bandwidth limit in the WAN settings (Web UI, standalone mode) but it has no effect.

Why are there bandwidth limiting in WAN settings if they don't do anything?

I can add a bandwidth limiting rule in Transmissions tab but I don't want to do that.

Can you please help?

There is no WAN bandwidth limiting.

The speed you set up on WAN port is only related to bandwidth control function in LAN.

It also take effect on Load Balance so higher speed WAN port will be assigned more sessions.
