I have same problem. Before 3 months I had to reboot router every Monday. 10 days ago I create 2 more users ant then i have to reboot every morning. Here is log files before reboot and after.

Ok after a restart of the PPTP service it works for a while (maybe one day)...
It seems to me like the PPTP service is down and so you have to "re"enable it...
The Router stays ping-able even though the vpn doesnt work - all other features are woking fine ...

I have the same problem for 3 weeks on two custumers. pptp becomes down every night....
After annalysing the log i've found the same thing :

Aug 22 22:43:35 VPN INFO PPTPS CTRL: Client 183.60.48.25 control connection started
Aug 22 22:43:35 VPN ERROR PPTPS CTRL: EOF or bad error reading ctrl packet length.
Aug 22 22:43:35 VPN ERROR PPTPS CTRL: couldn't read packet header (exit)
Aug 22 22:43:35 VPN ERROR PPTPS CTRL: CTRL read failed
Aug 22 22:43:35 VPN INFO PPTPS CTRL: Client 183.60.48.25 control connection finished

just after that the pptp is down. ( on two places )

ip 183.60.48.25 is not mine... it comes from china....

It's really the same thing each night. I'm a bit in trouble ( chinesse product, chinesse attack ) and i've written to tplink to have an answer.

After posting, i've read your syslog ( before pptp down ) and i'm very surprised that u have the same syslog as mine from the same ip from china.

I'm shure they know how to hack the vpn...

i got the same syslog entries ... think there is no other possibility than throwing it away ... :mad:

i've had an answer from tplink. they know the problem of hack and are working on a new firmware....
i've tried to block this adress but i don't found the way to do it on this router.

I've read same problems with other routers vpn coming from that f**** ip adress.

I have the same problem after flashing to final release of FW version 1.2.1 Build 130831 Rev. 63039n

It working for 1 day maybe. I don't have logs before restart to say if there is the same chinese IP address, but it pisses me of.

Should I throw it away and buy something else?

TL-R600VPN_V2_130831 (it should repair this issue)

It freezes in about a day. Any ideas, or should I throw it away and buy something else? Any recommendations for alternatives?
