I was a little bit confused, what types of vpn that i can use? On the router there are different type of vpn like PPTP, L2TP and IPSec.

What i want to do is, our medium enterprise business with one office/network and no other branch just to be safe and secure our data accross to the internet to avoid from hackers and other threat from outside world. I think vpn is one of the solution base on our needs.

Note: our ISP provider (internet) have default Obtain DHCP configuration and nothing can change.

Is the vpn works in different segments? or should i change my segments from different to one segment only?

VPN is used to connect multiple sites or make clients be able to access the internal service, and is able to encrypt your data. 

Now if you just want to access internet,sorry that it cannot help you. 

If you want to protect your business network from hackers, you may be able to install a firewall in your netowrk to enhance security.

If you want to protect the data that access the internet, normally it's based on whether your application has the protected mechanism. For example, if you use HTTPS to access web, the data will be encrypted.
