Despite several google searches, I have not found any helpful information on:

 

  • Optimizing this routers settings to Port forwarding (using a virtual VPN?)

 

I don't want to inadvertently disable my Xboxes' internet connection by experiemting with the router'sm settings. So, if anyone has experience with port forwarding on a Archer BE800/.BE19000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 router, or found any resources that detail the settings to port forward two Xboxes, your help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Also, if anyone can explain the nomenclature of my router - BE800 vs BE19000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7, I would be interested to learn why it seemingly has two different names.

Anyone set up port forwarding for their X-Box?

I have not set up an X-box but have set up security NVR with port forwarding.

 

The basic steps are:

 

Reserve IP address for the devices MAC address in your router and restart the router (example for MAC address of the x-box of xx:xx:xx:xx you set it to an unused 192.168.x.xxx IP address within the routers IP range. The xx are filled in with your numbers and range. 

 

Next you set up the port forwarding for each of the ports that your device requires. For my NVR it was four ports. 

 

Restart the router.
