KASA Username & Password
I'm looking to use a python library to interact with the devices (KP125M) however, a username and password is required to connect. Does anyone know where I would get this username and password? I tried the UN/PW for my kasa account, but that didn't work.

Out of curiosity, why not use the Matter connectivity to interact with the devices through official means?
I would honestly recommend taking a look at the Home Assistant development for help, as they will know far more about interacting with the backend connections than our team does.
I believe that the credentials should be the same login used to log into your Kasa and Tapo App, along with the credentials used to log into the forum - so please be careful. I believe that HA has seen problems if your username and password contain capitals, but once again I am not sure - and I would recommend poking around their forums for any unofficial development out there.

Well, frankly I've never heard of any of the things you are talking about. I bought these things and plugged them in and connected them to my Alexa. Now I'm trying to make it so from a python script (aka from my pc via script) I can turn on and off the plugs. I'm open to whatever way works to accomplish that.

@Craig127 I'm having the same problem - Android, load "Kasa App", install HS200 switch, On,Off,On,Off,On,Off... Never ask for login/pw. pip3 install python-kasa on my Linux laptop. All my older port 9999 work just fine. My new HS200, port 80 with KLAP ERROR! ERROR! Danger Will Robertson. "Oh, you need to reset your username and password" - HOW? update_credentials -> ERROR, my router login -> ERROR, my tplink web page -> ERROR, admin/admin ERROR.

If by "official" you mean the Kasa app on my phone - minor problem. A motion detector on my garage connected to a RasPi tells 2 older HS200 switches and a HS103 plug to turn the drive flood lights on, the porch light and the deck light on. I have greenhouse with another RasPi with a temp/humd sensor - when the temp goes above 80F or below 50F turn the cooling/heating on. According to TPlink support - as needed the RasPi should text me so I can pick up my phone and bring up the Kasa app and turn on the heat - at 3 A.M. ... and off at 3:10 and on at 3:20 and off at 3:27 and ... Or a script on my RasPi's can run "(python-)kasa --host gh-heat on, It's called Aut-O-Mation. As for credentials I've tried admin/admin, my router, my tplink.com login - errors out on everything. All I can find is "you need to reset your username and password" - OK, how? Thanks for any help you can give. <signed, very red wet forehead>
