Model: KS230 KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

After installing a 3 way on my Artika Skylight flat LED panel (dimmable),  the panel slowly goes from being bright to dim and then off as if the dimmer button was pressed but both switches doesn't look like it's being preset unless they're is a defect. I also don't have the ability to brighten or turn on/off. The light does blink red exactly like this thread on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/TPLinkKasa/comments/xps4ch/ks230_flashing_red_light_already_switched/?rdt=37355

The wiring matches the old  3 way switches including traveler and neutral.

I also noticed that the output load is 45 so it should be ok and not drawing too much power and it works with HS220. I moved it back to the dumb 3 way switch and it works fine so I'm thinking it's a compatibility issue with the kit. Just need to confirm. I also have a junk Jasco zwave I can try but I really don't want to go this route.

@MEkasaMyKasa I have the same problem. Did you find a solution?

@ArulM Yes, I have it installed and working fine. 1st rule, dont follow the TP-link instructions and trust youtube videos and follow the diagram exactly.

I connected the black "line" on the main switch to  the power source (to the breaker) otherwise what causes the light to dim.Just flip the wires and it will work. If you do mess up, power off for about 5 min to take out the residual power. seems that there's some type of residual build up. i let my first 3-switch rest for a day but it worked in 5 min for the 2nd 3-way. The neutral feed is required with the main dimmer and if you have multiple boxes it's really important that it's the same neutral as the line feed. Flipping this would block the switch from working from my testing. YMMV.

If you are not sure, match 1:1 with your existing switch. in my case, I just had to flip everything that was labeled in my old swtich with what TP-link instructed and it worked.

I sent my employer the diagram I found and have updated the v2 diagram on the website so others can benefit from the corrected diagram. Note, the diagram says that the traveler wires can be flipped but it didn't work for me so again, YMMV. I followed this for all my 3-ways and it worked like a charm.
