The apartment complex where I live recently changed its internet provider. The new provider installed their modem and connected it to a TP-Link TL-SG1016D switch so that it could then be connected to the apartment routers with their respective ethernet cables. Strangely for me, the router I have turns on its internet LED with orange color when the cable connection is going through the switch, but if I connect the router directly to the modem with a single ethernet cable then the LED turns green and I can get an internet connection. What can I do to keep my router connected to the switch but without losing the internet connection?
