Can a smart switch control a smart plug with smart actions, if the switch itself is not actually powering any device. It would only have power going to it for the Wi-Fi to work. There would be no power going through it to a device. Is that possible? Or too stupid even try?

Sure would be nice to get a response as the ability to use a non-load connected switch to link to another load connected switch would solve a lot of issues.
