Model: Deco XE5300
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Main Deco and both nodes are connected to internet. I cannot connect a wired backhaul without the Wireless backhauled Deco being the Node that won't connect. If I take off the wired backhail, all 3 nodes stay connected but only 2 nodes have clients. The 2nd node stayes connected now (I think), previously it was yellow or flashing red, but even with s green light nothing is ever connected to it, always shoes zero clinets and if you use it as the preferred node for certain devices to connect too, it disconnects, flashes red, then goes back to yellow. Regardless its a Node that does nothing and never has any clients. The best I can do is, zero clients but connected. I've tried shutting off beam forming etc, removed Mesh network from stationary IOT devices, nothing works

Hey @IntheD,

First, I would verify that devices are in fact offline, by checking their connection in the client list. It is possible that wired connections passing through a network switch will not be properly assigned to one of the nodes in the app.

Your network will work to automatically move devices to the node that can provide the best connection to the client device - not just what it first connects to.

Once you disconnect your wired backhaul your network may immediately find that those device can be better served from another node (the purpose of the node preference feature is to overwrite this)

What is the distance between the satellite nodes? Try moving the node closer to the main node, or away from sources of interference to see if devices connect and the Deco maintains its connection.

You may try resetting that particular node and adding it to the network again so that any errors or problems can be cleared.
