Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.2

So it's like the title says, I am having this connections very consistently across devices. It is always on the 5G bands, it is most of the time my PlayStation coming out of rest mode. On occasion it is my phone.

The weird part is when I go to reconnect; whichever device has been chosen to be disconnected that time will not reconnect. I can either reboot the router, or forget to the network entirely on the device scan for the net work again and reconnect to it by entering the password.

I should know that the Wi-Fi strength in this room is 98% on the PlayStation. It is not a weak signal. I saw another thread that had something similar in the router logs, however this person was using two devices and I'm not. I should state that I do not have tech knowledge. At all. I watched a video to set up the router and just assumed the Internet would always work.

I was asked to enter a model number and version number. I just want to say that I have the Archer AX 11000 and for some reason I couldn't find that in the list.

--In the router settings it says hardware version one but on the box it says 1.6.--

i'm hoping someone can tell me if this might .2 a problem on its own. It was not open box, but I don't know if these things should match up.--

I am copy and pasting the log from the other post directly because it's the same thing that mine says. I do not have any extenders. I have frontier fiber. The modem is in the garage, it runs to the router. That's it.

I wish I could provide more information but I'm not sure what I should be providing, I would greatly appreciate any help. It's Fourth of July so I expect I won't get a response today, but I'm thinking I will also call TP link or whatever. At this point I'm thinking I may need to just return the router. I can't reboot the router or disconnect devices every day and reconnect them. typing in Wi-Fi disconnects on TP link just brings up so many pages; it's clearly an issue.

i've heard that I could set a static IP, but when it's recommended to me it seems like people are assuming I have multiple access points. I have no idea how to set a static IP because I don't understand what a sub mask is,

A sidenote is my routing table has three active route numbers. Two of them are WAN and one is LAN.-- I have no hardwired devices. I was told at one point that I should only have two active route numbers but I don't see any way to edit them.

Again thanks in advance guys.

  @No-Bright-Ideas

Hello, thank you very much for posting on TP-Link Community.

You mean all 2.4G client devices are working fine and stable but 5G wireless clients PlayStation and your phone will disconnect from the 5G wireless network automatically, right?

Please try to change the 5G channel and channel width on Advanced->Wireless->Wireless Settings page to see if it helps.

If the problem still exists, please also check the firmware version of your router on Advanced->System Tools->Firmware Upgrade page.

By the way, regarding your question about the hardware version, it is normal that the web interface shows v1 while the label shows V1.6, because the V1.6 firmware is actually the same as the V1.

  @Sunshine

Right now I have my 5g1 on auto for all, but my 5g2 on 160hz. I can see that my PlayStation change his channel once in a while. I am using 0 wait DFS.

- at first I chopped it up to the 160 Hz but it happened on the other band as well. I in one instance I was in the same room not more than 3 feet from the router. This morning, like clockwork, I turn on my PlayStation to find the network disconnected and when I try to connect it gives me an error. The only option being to forget the Wi-Fi net work and re-join or reboot the router.

if I change the channel should I do it on both of the bands? Do you have a recommendation? I would like to keep the 160 Hz. I am not in an area where it makes sense for traffic to be causing issues with it. My signal strength when connected is 96 to 100% and my download speeds match almost what the ISP promises to deliver (My experience as I never actually get what I pay for).

Should I turn off zero wait DFS and see what happens? My biggest concern is the 30 day return policy. I realized to check each issue I need to make a change and wait a day to see if the connection fails. But it really only gives me 30 chances. Because at the end of that if it hasn't been fixed I feel like I should return the router to Best Buy and have it replaced. I just really can't imagine there being a problem outside of the router.

I should also note that the router is using 39% of his memory at all times. Not the CPU, but the RAM. While mass production is great for the economy, there is always flaws as they get pumped out. Someone had brought up to meet at the ram could be bad on the router.

Seeing that it says one out of two renewed and then enter renewing state, followed by my routers Mac and the DNS of my ISP; could the issue be using Cloudflare? It seems like switching my fix it, but there shouldn't be a reason for Cloudflare not to work. A lot of people use it with no issue whatsoever.

I noticed the other day that I got an SSL error on the router. When I turned off Wi-Fi on my phone everything worked as it should've. It was just one website, but I understand that there is a handshake involved or some thing?  I'm kind of running off of stuff I've read everywhere and so hopefully this is coherent. Is it possible that the connection issue is SSL related? Or handshake or some thing? I have used Cloudflare DNS on my router, although in the router logs when it is trying to renew the lease it is putting in my ISP DNS in the log.

to break it down.

1. What channel info would you recommend for the 5G bands? (Keeping 160 width on 5G2)

2. could zero wait DFS cause the issue?

3. The log shows 1/2 leased entering renewal state. It lists my router MAC and my -ISP- DNS. I have cloudflare set as the DNS on the router.

4. Does having an SSL issue help point to anything that could lead us to an answer?

I know this is a lot and if possible I will probably reach out on phone and try to get support. I have cameras attached to the net work because of neighborhood issues, we rely on the Internet for school. It's just not some thing that I can keep doing every morning. if I can't get it sold I will need to return the router. It's a $300 router, which was not cheap, but I thought it would benefit the house. I'm really hoping I don't have to backpedal on that.

Thank you in advance, I really appreciate you for such a prompt response. That means a lot to me.

  @Sunshine

with the logs I had posted, and I can re-post them again with more information, what are the odds that this is a man in the middle attack? Is it possible? It just seems like such an odd thing to have happening. The constant renew requests, the ssl error.. Then again I don't know anything about networking, but I've also heard from people that it could be the issue.
I have gotten so many different responses and this one has not been any stronger necessarily than the others. But, seeing as you are a TP link rep and therefore (in my mind) better quit and understanding the situation. With a bonus of being certified I'm assuming, your opinion will definitely put me at ease.

  @Sunshine

is there some sort of power management on the router? Is there anything that would ever cause it to transmit less data at any given time? Like a sleep mode? I've read about TWT. The issue occurs coming out of rest mode on my PlayStation. I have never had the system disconnect when it is only being used. I am thinking it's possible that when it's asleep the router is disconnecting it thinking that it's not important. Explain why it stops showing up in the client list after a while. When I first enter sleep mode it will stay in the client list, but eventually it will disappear.

when I try to reconnect it it will not do that, however in the client list it will appear again. I just won't be connected outside of what the router seems to think.

I think this might be the issue. Is there a way to adjust how the router treats inactive devices? I want it to just always assume everything is connected and send data or keep everything alive.

---please let me know,like I said I'm not a tech person, so I see things differently out of ignorance, but this seems to make the most sense to me in layman's terms. It also happened when my phone screen was locked after a while. The only time it occurs is when a device stops doing too much traffic. sometimes the most obvious issue is the correct one. ----
