Archer AC1900 Can't connect to 5g

I am using the tp-link archer c9 v1 router and a tp-link archer ac1900 wireless card in my windows 10 desktop computer and I am unable to connect to 5g.
I can see my 5g network, but it won't allow me to connect, no error message, just "cant connect". I can connect from other devices, so I believe the issue is with the wireless card. 2.4g network works fine.
I have updated drivers on both the card and the router. I have tried turning off the 5g security and changing the channels, same errors.
Any ideas?
