BE95 SFP+ Port not working correctly
I read a few reviews where users stated they had trouble with their SFP+ ports giving them problems, but I have not been able to find anyone who found a solution.
I am not being able to get speeds above approximately 250mbps using the SFP+ port on my Deco be95.
I am using a MikroTik CRS305 10gb switch (link below) with 10Gtek SFP+ DAC cables (link below) between my primary PC (windows 11 pro, iploex 10gbe NIC) and server (truenas scale, ipolex 10gbe). I have had no problem getting close to 10gbs speeds using iperf3 between the PC and the Server. However, connecting the deco be95 to the switch through the SFP+ port and then accessing the be95 wirelessly from another PC using the 6ghz band I am only getting 250mbps.
Interestingly, if I do the same thing, but use the 1gb ethernet port on the switch to connect to a 2.5gb ethernet port on the be95, I get speeds in the 500-600 mbps range using iperf3. Speeds I would expect for a 1gb port.
My next step is to attempt the same thing with my second be95 that I haven't set up yet. If I get the same results I will have to get an SFP+ to RJ45 10gb transceiver that will allow me to connect the 10gb switch to the 10gb ethernet ports on the be95 and test the speeds again.
However, I am wondering if the be95 does not work well with these specific DAC cables. I have never had a transceiver get noticibly hot, but the end plugged into the be95 is very much so. Does anyone know if the deco likes specific DAC cables?
Anyone else run into this issue?
