Model: Archer AXE95
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.5

Hi,

I have the above mentioned routers. During setup, the ax55 sees the axe95 as a onemesh add on but not the other way around. I presently have the 95 on the second floor and the 55 on the first. Ultimately id like to extend the wifi and also use the ethernet ports as a switch. Is this possible?

Jay

No.  Unfortunately, OneMesh only supports one Router in the network, and that router must be the base unit.  To use two routers, one as the base and one as a satellite, you would need EasyMesh support.  the Archer AXE95 is planned to support EasyMesh, but the AX55 is not.

@Carl Hello and thank you for your response. in that case, whats the best way to turn the 55 into a switch? Wouldnt this just create an ap while also providing ethernet connection on the first floor, assuming i have run an ethernet between the two?

Yes there is an AP mode for the Archer AX55, but it does require the unit to be physically connected via Ethernet to the host router.   You can then decide to enable or disable the wireless on the AX55 and use it as a switch or switch and Wireless AP.  Keep in mind using the Wireless of the AX55 it would be a different network, even if you use the same SSID and password, which is not recommended because it could lead to connectivity concerns.
