The thread discussing this has been closed so I'm opening a new one. It looks like TP-Link does not want to hear complaints... Anyway, for what it's worth...

I have purchased a modem/router rather than having one supplied by the provider for the hope that an open product will have not only full functionality but also a BACKUP option. I have lots of port forwarding and when a router dies it takes at least half a day to set a new one up with those settings. The provider-supplied routers have the backup feature disabled so I went for an open, commercial one... Only to find that not only that feature is missing there too, but I don't even get the web interface. I hate to type on the phone but now I'd have to type all of those NAT forwarding settings on a phone!

I, for one, am returning this product seeing that TP-Link not only just stated that they won't provide a web interface, but also that they did not want to hear any more complaints about it obviously. That is at least as bad.

What thread are you referring to?  I would be happy to investigate and let you know exactly why that thread was closed.  In reference to your comments, TP-Link is always open to customer feedback, and suggestions.  We have a specific section for that in the community located here.

In regards to a fully functional Web interface for Deco.  That is not likely to happen.  Deco and most Mesh systems on the market were built around mobility and simplicity.  They were built on a single management app that allows you do do everything a web interface does, just from the palm of your hand.   If you are a user who does not like managing your devices through a phone/tablet app, then a traditional router in our Archer Series is what you would want.  If you are discouraged from a Traditional router because it isn't Mesh well let me ease those concerns.  The majority of our current Archer series support OneMesh, EasyMesh, or both.  You can click the preceding links for detailed lists of compatible products.
