Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.6 Build 20221125 rel68607

I can't remember the password for the local admin on my router so I was going to do a factory reset, but I wanted to check if I should unbind the router from TPLink account and then do the reset, or can I leave the binding in place (all email etc will be same)?

No there is no need to.  Just factory default it.  Once its reconfigured rebind it to TP-Link ID.  There shouldn't be any duplicates.
