Model: Range Extender
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0

My new TP-Link RE700X routinely passes 350-475 Mbps at 2.4 GHz to my seven WiFi AV clients (SSID-ext).  My Hi Res audio streamer is connected by cat8 from the 700's gigabit port and the device showed one time as a 'wired' client.  The 'wired' category has now disappeared and the audio device is not listed as a client on the Tether app.  Why not?  (the RE700x is an outstanding device and functions perfectly).

 Hello  @FDW-NM

Thank you for the feedback, please check some tips here in the FAQ:

What if Tether cannot detect my TP-Link product in the “Device” Page?

Can I know is your device being set up in static IP or obtain IP address automatically, what is the model and OS of the device.

You could try to reboot RE & the wired the device and see if helps being detected in the APP.

Please note that my audio device is always recognized as a client when it is connected by WiFi but not when it is connected by ethernet cable.  I've tried all of your suggestions but the wired configuration remains unrecognized.   The IP address is set to automatic.  The iOS version is 15.5.

  @FDW-NM

Thank you for more testing.

  • On the phone, you could download a Ping test tool /app and ping the IP address of the wired device and see if ping  will pass at that time
  • Make sure VPN and security APPs are like Lookout or AdGuard are off and restart Tether APP
  • Confirm phone is connect to Main Wi-Fi, not Guest Wi-Fi
  • Please check if you could see the Audio device in Router DHCP list ?  If a device is on a static IP, it may not show up on the client list.

Can I know, do you need the device on Client list to check device parameters on the app?

Can you help  provide information here 1.  Model of the wire device, 2. Tether APP version 3. Network topology.g router model XX <Wireless> RE --Audio device Model of Audio device 3. Is Audio device on static IP or obtain IP address automatically?  4.  Ping test

  @Solla-topee

1.  VPN/Security are off.  2. My wired device is a Bluesound Node N130.  3. The Tether app version is 1.1.0.  4. My network router is an xFi XB7.  5.The IP address is set to automatic.  6. The ping test is 34 ms with a range of 30-38 ms.

I hope this helps.  Thank you.

  @Solla-topee

Thank you for your help!  I have responded to your email and hopefully your engineers can resolve the issue.  For anyone reading these posts, please remember that my original question was more out of curiosity than concern.  All of my AV devices linked to the RE700X and Tether app function perfectly.  The 700X is an outstanding range extender and solved all of my issues with both speed and signal strength.
