Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4

I followed the instructions for creation of an OpenVPN tunnel from my Ubuntu 21.04 system. When I execute the openvpn command and use the exported configuration, it creates a tunnel to the router.

The router shows the connections as having been built (several ipv4 addresses in use).

The basic config is:

Server System: 192.168.4.30/255.255.255.0 (fixed)

Router WAN: ddns enabled and published properly

Router LAN: 192.168.4.0/255.255.255.0 (dhcp enabled above 100)

Router OpenVPN Network: 10.8.0.0/255.255.255.0

Client System: Internal 192.168.3.0/255.255.255.0 connected via another AX3000 running the same software version via provider dhcp through nat.

The client tunnel interface shows as: 10.8.0.42 (after making several connections)

ping is successful to 10.8.0.42/255.255.255.0

route shows external host as 10.8.0.41/255.255.255.0 (does not ping)

forced route to 10.8.0.1/255.255.255.0 (does not ping)

strangely enough, I have been able to sporatically ping some of the 10.8.0.x addresses that show up on the router as part of the connection.

Although the tunnel is built, nothing (including the server AX3000 router) appears to be reachable.

HTML server access is via the server AX3000 built as a virtual server and presents externally from anywhere in the world through the ddns lookoup.

Any clue why the server AX3000 access is failing?

Thank you for your time.
