Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.04 Build 20200426 relationship.69563(5553)

I just bought and installed an AX3000. When I plug my iMac into a 1Gb Ethernet port on the router, it fails to connect.

I suspect it is because the hardware Ethernet port is configured in the iMac to use DNS 10.0.1.1. I have tried to change this in the iMac but it always reverts to 10.0.1.1.

How do I configure the iMac and/or the AX3000 so that I can use the Ethernet ports?

@Greg14

What are your settings in system preferences / network / Ethernet?

On my iMac I have 'Using DHCP' and in the advance tab 'DNS' my iMac shows 192.168.0.1 in the list.

@ArcherC8 It is set to "Using DHCP" with DNS set to 10.0.1.1.  As previously mentioned, I changed the DNS address to 192.168.0.1. However, when I plug in the Ethernet cable, after a few seconds it automagically changes back to 10.0.1.1.

The DHCP server is providing a valid 192.168.0.* address. But with the DNS address flipping back to 10.0.1.1, it can't reach the Internet.

Somehow, the router needs to be configured to behave like an DNS gateway or proxy.

@Greg14

In your router, what do you have for the LAN setting for the IP Address?
