First of all, I was unable to choose A7 model in your "Model" tab.


 

So just got Archer AC1750 as my VM hub range in a small house (upstairs near wall) was poor. Now with the A7 the Wifi speeds are actually slower than VM! I was expecting the speed to double and get better signal yet it hasn't.

 

  • Package is 500Mbps
  • Wired connection is also Under 400Mbps
  • I have disabled WMM for 2.4 and 5Ghz and it slowed down
  • Upgrading Firmware to '1.1.2 Build 20210125 rel.39623'
  • Model A7 v5
  • Security Access Control toggled-off
  • QoS disabled

 

Downstairs is about 15 meters away from the router. Speeds are much worse on WiFi than Virgin Hub...

LG B9 Oled, Note 20 Ultra, Honor 9 Lite x2, Google Home (wired), Hue Hub (wired), Hive (wired), Desktop PC (wired)

Update 2:

Steam Dota 2 download as a test is at 18MB/s usually this is anywhere from 30 to 50. Battlenet downloading at peak of 30MB/s and with Virgin Hub it does anywhere from 40-50MB/s

 

2.4 connection is even more awful.

Updated 3:

Hit the reset pin at the back for 10 seconds. Turned of VM modem, let the router boot. When all green lights came on, I turned on VM modem, ran the TP LINK setup and now hitting 220Mbps download and 30Mbps upload. Ran the Battlenet downloader for a game and getting 40MB/s to 60MB/s (max). Going to keep an eye on this over the next week. If I have anymore issues I will most likely return this router and either get a new one or wait and save for a full Ubiquiti setup.

 

Edit:

Scratch that, WiFi is shocking again, same as before and worse downstairs. When I started looking at 4K HDR 60p footage it started buffering like crazy (YouTube). Wired is a lot better now though...

 

WMM off.

Returning it. VM Router speeds are double-tripple both upstairs and downstairs that of the A7...

When experiencing the Wi-Fi slowdown, were the various eight devices disconnected to see if the speed returns? Or the router rebooted, and tested with one device? You can potentially try disabling/enabling NAT Boost (Advanced > System Tools > System Parameters).

 

If you are focusing on the 5GHz network, set the width to 80 MHz, and try various wireless channels to see if you get better performance. In some instances setting the transmit power to medium has helped from it being high.
