Firmware Version: 1.0.8 Build 20190411 rel.65590(5553)

I just replaced my Archer C7 with a new Archer A8, which is running fine with full internet access. I now want to use the A7 as a wireless bridge for some AV gear.  I configured the A7 as a WDS router on 5g, and the WDS Status is "Run".  However, it has no internet connection.

 

I have disabled DHCP on the C7 and set its IP address to 192.168.1.3.  I tried re-enabling and re-disabling DHCP as suggested in another thread, but still no internet

 

The A8 is at 192.168.1.2 and its DHCP range is 192.168.1.101-249.  Both routers have the latest firmware.

 

What am I doing wrong?

No answers to this yet.  Support told me to read the FAQ and the manual, which I've already done. They also suggested configuring  it as an Access Point.

 

Can anyone confirm that configuring the router as an Access Point only works for a wired connection to the base router?  That's what the manual says.  It's not an option for me.
