Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.8 Build 20200730 Rel. 154345

I set up my new AX1500 WiFI range extender and changed the device name from the default (RE505X) to something more personalized for my home network. Within the Tether App I can see my network and the extender proper device name just fine. But back at my admin screen in my home base router (an older TPLink AC1750 that I am replacing to get WIFI6) it shows up as the default name. It looks like the AX1500 device is not transmitting its own actual device name to the router when it gets the IP address for the local lan along with the MAC address. I forced a router refresh and I thought that this would force a retransmission of the extender's device name but it did not work.

Is there a small bug in the extender firmware that is not updating its own user given internal name to the other devices on my network that are connected to it?

NOTE: At the local IP web page interface to the device admin screen (not using Tether but a browser) I notice that the device name is the default name and not the name I gave it inside the Tether App. and there's no apparent user admin means to change it at thr browser admin screen.

@MelbJim

The name change would need to be done on the router client list, similar to below:

@Tony

Thanks. I tried to do it from the lower Advanced clients list but there's not edit there. I changed my name at the extender itself and expected that it would propagate to the router as part of the IP assignment to MAC mappnig. I can do it here in the higher level admin screen but am surprised that the device name did not propagate.
