Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20200706 Rel. 37538(5553)

Has anyone using the AX1500 as an Access Point had the WAN L.E.D indicator light illuminating orange,  and not green? It also won't let it check for firmware updates either. All devices are getting a DHCP assigned IP address from the main modem/router and can connect to all WAN internet websites.

Not being able to check for firmware maybe the AP not being able to resolve and address. Have you tried assigning a static IP to the AP unit?

@Tony  I tried the static IP setting, but the WAN L.E.D still remained orange. One thing I did notice was when you change the router into an access point, it takes way the two boxes where you would normally would put the DNS resolvers.

The LED should be green.

Try factory resetting the AX1500 by holding the reset for 15 seconds, leave all settings defaulted, and just switch the operation mode to AP (System > Operation Mode). While in AP check the LED light again, also make sure the time settings are correct.

The default NTP servers should be:

time.nist.gov
time-nw.nist.gov
