Model: RE650
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: RE650(US)_V1_190521

I have 2 RE650 that connect to 2.4 GHZ and extend it but when I log on it says No Internet. 5GHZ works fine. I can stand right beside them and connect to the source 2.4Ghz directly and it works. They only a couple months old. I can't read the hardware version on them, text is too small. I updated to the latest firmware.

Any ideas  ?

Are the 2.4GHz LED lights on for both RE650s?

Yes, all the lights are on and they extend the network but when I connect there is no interenet, an IP is not assigned.

FYI I've used several earler versions of this extender without issue for the last couple of years.

Do you have MAC address reservations set to give an IP or filtering? Reason being when a device connects through the extender a virtual MAC address will be created for it so the device will be "different" compared to being directly connected to the router.

Other things to try is to reflash the firmware on the RE650. Factory default one, then log into it through the web interface (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1398/), and update the firmware (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/). Even if it is already the latest release, reapply the firmware.

What is the model of the router that you are using? Did the router come from your ISP?

I'll try rolling the firmware back and then updating.

There are no MAC or IP filtering setup.

I'm using an ASUS router that works fine with and RE450. It's only the RE650s that have stopped working.

Thank you for the information.

If reflashing the firmware does not work, try setting a specific wireless channel such as channel 11.

Default one of the RE650s and use the Tether app to set it up with your router (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1373/)
