Inability of new C7v4 router to establish ipv6 link on setup

Have in hand a new Archer C7v4 router to pair with existing C7v2 in order to set up Access Point for better WiFi coverage in two-story house. Main router (v2) enjoys ipv6 connectivity and tests out fine. Went through setup with new v4 and ipv6 failed, as no address was obtained from modem. Followed all procedures, manually and otherwise...no joy. Tried all three firmware versions available...none would allow ipv6 connection (couldn't obtain ipv6 WAN address). So, now what? Return C7v4 to Amazon for full refund? Continue banging away, hoping SOMETHING will click on bootup and get ipv6 connectivity? Very frustrating, and can't see what the issue is. I do recall the v2 having initial problems with Comcast ipv6 provisioning, but that was solved with firmware upgrades, and would have thought the same fixes for v2 would have been applied to v4 firmware. Any suggestions?

Additional details:
HDWR vers.: C7V4
FRMWR vers.:ArcherC7(us)_V4_170901.bin
Also, despite failure of ipv6 functionality, I went ahead and used the V4 router as an AP, disabling "DCHP Server" per instructions, and connecting to main router via LAN-to-LAN ports. Worked great for range extension, signal strength, etc., but totally killed ipv6 connectivity for main router!!

When you test the IPv6 on the Archer C7,v4, is it directly to the modem? Or Archer C7,v2's LAN port ------Archer C7 V4 WAN port?
If you have unplug the V2 and configure the V4 directly to the modem, can you send the screenshots of the settings page and status on both V2 and V4?
If V4 connect to the V2 with cable, I am afraid the V4 can only configure as AP if you want to use the IPv6

Went through complete setup, as instructed by User Manual and previous experience w/ the V2: Powered off the modem, connected modem to C4 WAN port, powered on modem until it had completed bootup, then powered up C4 and completed setup via desktop PC/LAN connection. Actually, you may have a point about V4, AP, and IPV6 connectivity. I've given up trying to configure V4 router as "primary" device, because of repeated IPV6 failures, so now will try to use it as AP by: disabling IPV6; selecting "pass-through" option; disabling DHCP server; then connecting LAN-to-LAN with V2 as main router.
Doesn't solve the problem of why V4 can't fetch IPV6 address from ISP via modem.

Finally, success! Used the C7v2 as primary router (provisioned with IPv6 addresses, etc,), then set up the C7v4 as "AP" extender. Got around the seemingly intractable IPv6 issue w/ C7v4 by using the "pass-through" option under the "IPv6 setup" and then disabling "DHCP server". Did some additional fine-tuning of 2.4/5 GHz wireless channels, and all is good. Terrific coverage throughout two-story house, full IPv6 functionality, what's not to like? A couple of notes on setup: on Windows Network Map the AP showed up as a huge question mark, pointing to laptop...go into AP router setup and disable firewall, refresh network, and the router is renamed "switch". Also, latest firmware release for C7v4 has an "Operation Mode" option, where the user can either choose "Router", or "Access Point". Don't use the latter, as it has minimal setup options, and carries most of the native settings unchanged, including the effed-up IPV6 business, which will crash all IPV6 connectivity for your home network if the AP option is selected.
Cheers.

Good sharing ~
So it looks like when choose Access point mode, the IPv6 cannot pass to the V4?

Dude, I hear you...sent out a call to tp-link support...got a "ticket", but two weeks later - no response. Bottom line is that TP-Link routers have ALWAYS had IPV6 issues, and only partially addressed them. Previously I had an ASUS router which was IPV6-compatible, always connected, never an issue, until the bugger just simply died on me. My real issue with TP-Link is the continued instability of the IPV6 connectivity, which they have really never got their heads round. Otherwise, a very nice router.
