Unable to achieve 2Gb speeds
I guess I solved my problem. Since the satellites have a 2.5Gb input I decided to run a 50' CAT6 cable from my pc 2.5Gb NIC to a satellite 2.5Gb input. I also disconnect the backhaul LAN connection forcing a wireless connection to the router which was 30' away. I was then able to run speedtest and achieve 1.6Gb speeds. I'm not sure why I could not achieve these speeds utilizing a a Netgear A8000 Nighthawk AXE3000 WiFi 6E USB 3.0 Adapter. It was only a few feet away from the pc, router & CM3000 modem. Of course this could have been avoided if there were more than one 2.5Gb LAN inputs. The Modem eats up the one router input.
I have xfinity 2Gb plan 2000/300. I'm using a Netgear CM3000 Modem that supports these speeds. To verify that I do have these speeds I installed a 2.5Gb NIC into my PC. I connected my PC directly into the 2.5Gb port on my Modem. I did get over 2Gb download speeds. Since the deco only has 1Gb LAN ports I purchased a Netgear WiFi 6E adapter A8000 which supports up to 3Gb speeds. This adapter is now connected to the 6GHz Band. I still can only achieve far less the 1Gb speeds. Both the Deco router and Netgear 6E adapter are 3 feet away. The Modem is connected to the Deco router with a short Cat6 cable. Yes the Modem is connected to the Deco on the bottom 2.5Gb port. I have done may resets on Modem and router and have also rebooted the whole deco system 1 router + 2 satelites. My Samsung S24 Ultra also does not get these speeds and it is also connected to 6E.
Can anyone explain why? I'm at my wits end. I do not have QoS enabled. Do I need to swap out router with a satelite?
Thanks.
