Model: Deco BE95
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.21 Build 20240726 Rel. 25771

Has anyone installed this yet on the BE95?

1.1.0 Build 20241217 Rel. 38308

Anyone experienced stability issues?  Had seen where some users with other Deco models had some odd stability issues with past firmware updates.

@RestingCat no. I didn't even know there was an update. I wonder what it fixes, not listed in the product page.

Did you install it?

Not yet.  Decos (four BE95 units) are still running 1.0.21 Build 20240726 Rel. 25771

Was trying to see if anyone else had tested the waters first.  If not I might install the new firmware version after next week.  I go on-call for work next week, so I need a stable/reliable home network to work from.

@RestingCat that makes sense. Hopefully today or tomorrow TP-Link updates the BE95 page with details about the new update.

As an FYI, I'm currently using the Archer GE800 (https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-ge800/), to help abl client, and which I must say is quite stable with a very large coverage area; covers my 2700 square foot house with ease. While it is triband vs the BE95's quadband, it more than makes up for that difference.

However, @Carl is this update the same BE95 beta firmware I've been testing for you?  What do you know about this update?  Thanks in advance!

@RestingCat I'm on a slightly older build of 1.1.0 (20241108 rel 28027) on my network and it's been working without issue. I have two BE95's as well as two BE85's and it brought the units up to feature parody with each other which is nice.

On a different note, are you in a beta or testing program? Just wondering as I can't find any new firmware release for the BE95's. I got my most recent firmware from a different community post and uploaded it and not through the app.

No, not enrolled in any beta test program (that I'm aware of).

Checked again and update is still there.  Made some screen grabs of the fixes.

I went ahead and published the firmware to the US website. You can view V1 and V1.6 from this link:  https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-be95/#Firmware. Just use the version dropdown at the top to select your version.

@Richardj186 My thoughts are that it is.  It matches the timeline, but I can't say for 100% as I am not fully aware of what version the Beta was on.  I can attempt to find out if you like but I will not likely get a response until Monday at the earliest.

@Carl thank you very much. Now I just need to see if it will install on top of the beta.

@RestingCat I had to manually download it from the website and manually upload it, was running 1.0.21...

EDIT-  I do have Auto Updates enabled.  It did not download overnight.  It does not show when I check for updates, both on the Android App nor on the web interface!

@jzchen yeah that's what I'm having to do too.

Here are the steps if installing on top of beta Deco firmware.  FYI:  This will wipe all settings from your Decos, requiring fresh network setup.

1.  Unplug Deco from power.

2.  Insert safety clip into Reset hole, hold there for 10 seconds.

3.  While still holding clip in Reset hole, plug Deco power cord back in.

4.  After LED flashes, remove clip.

5.  Connect via Ethernet to Deco and flash new firmware.

6.  Repeat for each Deco node with beta firmware.

7.  Set up network from scratch.
