LAN Transfer Speeds are Unacceptable
I have a XE75 Deco system. I've run the interference optimizer, on the latest firmware, they are all on the same (primary/non-guest, non-IoT) network, and have set my four test devices to have "high priority" in the app.
I've been testing from four devices:
- A new M3 MacBook Pro (on wifi 6)
- An older Dell XPS running Windows 10
- An older 2015 MacBook Pro
- A home server running Unraid, which is connected to the base Deco node by a cat6 cable. (Per specs, each node has three gigabit ports.)
As a baseline, speedtest.net currently gives about 114mbps download speed from the open internet.
I'm using the iperf3 tool to measure network speeds. Between any two of the above devices, I'm getting transfer rates of about 47 mbits/sec -- that's less than 6 mbytes/sec. This can't be as designed.
Any ideas? This is really bad, and basically makes my home storage server useless. It took an hour to transfer 20gb!

You are testing between two devices,
- A home server running Unraid, which is connected to the base Deco node by a cat6 cable
- what is the other device, how is it connected to what?
What is the setup providing the 114mbps download speed from the open internet?

The server is wired by cat6 to the base Deco unit.
The other computers are connected by wifi to the Deco system. They are not on the guest or IoT networks.
To check open Internet speed, I simply opened speedtest.net and ran the test on one of the laptops on wifi. It demonstrates the bandwidth is capable of much higher speeds than I'm getting.

@Zudnic Do you mean a laptop has higher bandwidth with internet than with a server wired on the base Deco?
Do you run your Deco mesh in Router or in Access Point mode?
Are your Deco wired with each other?
Please describe your setup.

Yes, that is true, but the problem is more general. The laptop has higher bandwidth with the internet than with any other computer on the LAN.
I have a gigabit connection that comes into my house via the provider's equipment. That is connected to a Deco node via cat6 cable. I have two other Deco nodes in the house connected via wireless backhaul. Most of my devices are connected via wifi, either wifi 5 or wifi 6. I have one computer, my server, connected via cat6 to the Deco base station.
I have two scenarios:
- WAN: When I pull data to any computer on the network via speedtest.net, I am pulling from the open internet, through the Deco base station, via wireless backhaul, to a Deco satellite, then via wifi to the endpoint computer.
- LAN: When I pull data to any computer on the local network from another computer on the local network, via wifi 5 / wifi 6 / or physical cat6 to a Deco device, through wireless backhaul, to another Deco device, then by wifi 5 / wifi6 / or physical cat6 to the endpoint computer.
Scenario 1 gives gives bandwidth of 100mbps+ reliably. Scenario 2, I get transfer speeds of 5-10mbps. In short, I'm getting transfer rates about 20x faster when I pull from the open internet rather than a local computer.
Note the iperf3 tool solely measures network speed and is not subject to performance considerations/limitations of the local or remote computer.
I am not using access point mode.

If iperf does bidirectional traffic, while netspeed does unidirectional traffic, then you obtain aboit the same results with internet and with a local server cabled on the main Deco. The bottleneck would be your wifi network.
It looks like your wifi backhaul is in bad shape.
DId you test with clients connected by wifi to the main Deco?

I ran an iperf3 test in both directions between a laptop (192.168.68.15) connected to the base Deco via wifi and the server (192.168.68.251) which is connected to the same (base) Deco via cat6. The cable connecting the Deco to the server is a new cable.
Still only getting ~25mbps in one direction and 10 in the other.
I'm starting to think that this is a limitation of the Deco system and that I should think about replacing it.

@yves_b As I read it, the bitrate is 200-ish BITS per second, or 25 mb/sec, which is still about 1/4 of what I would expect.
If the problem is indeed the backhaul, what should I do about it?

@Zudnic We usually use "b" for bits and "B" for bytes.
You have 119 mbps from internet, and 200 mbps between a laptop connected by wifi to your main Deco and a server wired into your main Deco.
If this laptop is a Windows laptop, could you look into the properties of its wifi connection, and share with us what is provides:
Protocol: Wi-Fi ???
Network band: ???
Link speed (Receive/Transmit): ???/??? (Mbps)
