I have a XE75 System and prior to today, I was incredibly happy with it.

My home had a power surge, briefly losing power and coming back on a short time later. I'm quite positive the deco didnt get fried as it is powered by a pretty solid surge protector and none of the other electronic equipment that is connected shows any sign of malfunction.

The deco just sat there, flashing, for an extraordinary amount of time. (Over 15 minutes.)

I pressed the reset button on each, and now I have to go through the entire setup process, again.

I have more than 20 devices as well as two cameras and a doorbell, all from TP link. The thought of doing this is a bit more than slightly infuriating; and in all honesty, I'm thinking of just getting rid of all the TP link stuff because of the bad taste i now have for it.

My irrational disdain for the item aside, is there a straightforward way to restore a config from the TP link portal?

@Brother_Theresa The Main Deco was flashing blue or red?

It was perhaps not necessary to reset the Deco.

Hi  @Brother_Theresa,

Welcome to the community!

Before resetting your Deco system to factory defaults, did you try power cycling (unplugging, plugging back in) the main node, and satellite node(s)?

Generally, a pulsing or flashing LED can indicate various things, depending on its color:

A yellow pulse indicates the Deco is resetting.

A blue pulse indicates that the Deco is ready to be set up.

A green pulse indicates that the Deco's firmware is being upgraded.

A red pulse indicates a connection disruption between the nodes.

If they did not automatically reconnect without intervention, the power outage might have prevented them from re-establishing connectivity automatically. In this scenario, rebooting them might have remedied the behavior.

If the system has already been reset, the easiest way to reconfigure it would be to use the Deco app and re-apply the same SSID (Wi-Fi Name) and password previously used. This will allow your wireless devices to rejoin the network automatically.

If you have any unexpected concerns or questions about your Deco experience in the future, always feel free to reach out here, or contact our live support team via phone or chat via our support portal.
