Model: Deco XE5300
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I have 3 node setup

The internet enters the house in the basement

There is a node in main floor and another one in the 2nd floor.

All is working great.

The basement is currently the main node as it's where the cable modem is connected.

Main floor and 2nd floor connect to the basement.

I was wondering if I should connect the 2nd one to the main floor instead of the basement.

Meshmap

The Internet enters the basement. Setup a Ethernet cable based backgaul to main floor. The 2nd floor connects via WiFi backhaul to the main floor.

Seems to be working very well

@RockyMtnRajah It is, indeed, always better to use Ethernet cables when possible.

Do you have a question about your setup?

@yves_b, initially I had Internet coming in to the basement node and a node on the first and 2nd floor all interconnected using WiFi to basement node. In that case would it have been better to connect 2nd floor to 1st floor node, instead of basement, as the wifi connection for interconnect would be stronger, or leave it in auto and let deco decide?..thanks
