The quality of my iphone conversation degrades when I use wifi instead of cell. It doesn't matter what band I use, 2.4 or 5. What I hear from the other end doesn't change, but the person I am talking with notices a voice degradation from their end when I use wifi instead of cell.

As per your description, it seems that you're using Wi-Fi Calling with the network.
Please go through the suggestions provided in the following article to check if you can get it to work correctly:

If no luck, please check to see if you can connect the phone to another wireless network and confirm if the conversation and voice are good.
