Archer A7 - Weak security message on iPhone
Hello,
I just picked up this router and set it up. I'm now seeing a "weak security" message on my iPhone next to my wi-fi stating "WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) is not considered secure. If this is your wi-fi network, configure the router to use WPA2 (AES) or WPA3 security type."
Can this be done with this router? I never had this message come up with my previous router.
Thank you very much for any help.

@thebalconyfool I am having the same problem with my Archer C59 and it is set to AES!

After setting the router for WPA2 PSK and AES, forget the network and reconnect, something may be getting cached. Not simply disconnecting and reconnecting, but to have the computer or phone forget the network so you are prompted to enter the password again.

@Tony I did forget the network several times and entered the password. Also saved and reboot the router several times. Same problem of weak security.

I downloaded a Wi-Fi analyzer, set the 2.4G to AES, and set the 5G to TKIP+AES.
I'm wondering if both TKIP and AES are still being shown.
Please provide screenshots of what you see?

my iphone also suggests WPA3 but the AX50 (a wifi 6 router?) does not have that. Firmware looks up to date, is that menu somewhere else??

@Tony this is happening to me too! Dumb questions...how do I log into my router, I thought I was logged in... where is the security option?

Here is how you would log into the router: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/87/
The screenshots below is how you would change your router to use AES to get rid of the weak message warning:
