Slow network performance on AX50/AX3000
Hello, I just purchased a AX50/AX3000 router and am having a terrible time gettingt the LAN speeds to be good. My other router was a Netgear and I was able to confirm that my WAN/Internet speeds are 500/250 from my ISP. I am getting close to that on wireless when I am right near the router. However, with the AX50 I am only getting 60mbps down and 40mbps up. I've tried everything including mimicking my settings from the Netgear router. Could this be an issue with my devices (iPhone and Macbook Pro) not supporting AX?

@Sevi I can confirm as of 7/28/20 that uninstalling Tether app, doing factory reset gave me the speeds I was paying for,
My guess is that some version of QoS gets enabled by the Tether app by default, limiting total bandwidth. I run a 400mbps connection and the most any device could Speedtest was 158mbps until I did the full reset. Now I'm hitting 460mbps.

Alright folks. Heres the gist for those who are just coming to this thread having an issue of internet speeds not reaching your expectations.
Two issues, features that are potentially broken at the moment or utilizing a not so great implementation.
#1 - High Priority: This does not work and WILL limit your bandwidth.
#2 - QoS: Assuming segments bandwidth out. Not what its supposed to do. Set this to your actual bandwidth speeds and put it to standard or "fair"

QoS (w/ bandwidth limit set properly) implementation is rancid. The speed ramp up on QoS is slow (takes a 5 seconds to reach where it is suppose to) compared to non-QoS mode. Updates on the tether app also crashes the router.

I just updated my firmware today and will see if it will address the issues that was raised on this tread as I am also experiencing the same problem with this newly purchased ax50 router. Wifi connection issues on both 2.4GHz & 5GHz, router would not turn-on after setting-up the wireless schedule, LED status won't turn-off after enabling the night mode. By the way, my location is from the Philippines and my ISP is Globe Telecom with a 100Mbps plan.
Will perform the hard reset on the router and will remove the tether app to see the performance of the router. Details of the new firmware below for reference. Thanks

This router is a sh#t. It's a worst router ever.
I update the firmware to 1.0.9 Build 20200708 and now i have 90 Mbps download and 1.08 Mbps Upload.
I pay for 300 Mbps symmetric.
DON'T BUY IT!

Note that in my testing, the AX10 also has this bug.

@Carl I had identical issue with a different model (AC2300)-- got it MUCH faster, up to almost 300Mbps, by doing two things (I should have tested after each one, but I didn't feel like waiting for two resets!)
First, I disabled some of the TV-over-IP settings, and changing the applicable settings on the LAN ports (Advanced>Network>IPTV). (I'm on verizon Fios, internet only-- so I'm not losing any TV-related functions.)
Second, I changed the "internet speed negotiation setting" (Advanced>System Parameters) from "auto" to 1000Mbps full duplex.
hope this helps-- it seems to be a widespread problem, and no coincidence that we're hitting the same speed cap on different TPLink devices. TPLink owes an organized response to this!

@Sevi I have been struggling with these issues myself. I pay for 1GB Down from Comcast in ATL. Until today the most I saw in a speed test was capped at 280Mbps down. Tonight I set the negotiation speed to 1000Mbps instead of Auto, and my first speed test jumped to 939 down. Definitely going to continue to keep my eye on it for a few weeks but its looking much better.
