Slow network performance on AX50/AX3000
Hello, I just purchased a AX50/AX3000 router and am having a terrible time gettingt the LAN speeds to be good. My other router was a Netgear and I was able to confirm that my WAN/Internet speeds are 500/250 from my ISP. I am getting close to that on wireless when I am right near the router. However, with the AX50 I am only getting 60mbps down and 40mbps up. I've tried everything including mimicking my settings from the Netgear router. Could this be an issue with my devices (iPhone and Macbook Pro) not supporting AX?

@Carl I'm solely talking about this thread. Were the above users just confused and it had nothing to do with the Tether app and if this was solved, why do I see no resolution to this ticket?

If you are referring to my responses to Joel. His question of: "Has TP-Link fixed this yet or can we not download or link the router to the TP-Link Tether app still?" was the first mention of a issue with the Tether app on this thread. As I asked him to provide details or links to other threads that are talking about issues with Tether so I would ask the same of you. We don't have any reports currently about Tether causing any issues with AX routers. I myself have an AX router and have not had any issues I can see with tether or the router working with Tether. If you can provide something I'd be happy to look into it for you as well.

@Carl I was simply talking about this
but if you're saying that you're using that model and it's working fine then I'll still purchase the router. I just didn't want to **not** use the Tether app since I really like it - and wanted to be sure it wasn't a problem if I got one of these newer routers.

Acutally thank you. I did miss that mention, so did control-F for that matter. I currently have the AX20 AX1800 router I have a collegue who has the Archer AX50 and has not reported any issues with the AX50 and the tether app ethier. Not sure what Shuan or david were doing but an App espcially if its not actively running or running in the background can't affect speed.
You should be good, but if not let us know.

Good Afternoon All -
Firmware 1.0.2 seems to address this issue. I just upgraded and all my wireless devices seem to be much happier now.

Hello Everybody
The bug is about priority settings
Disable all "High Priority" choice on any device & reboot (you can do it with Tether app, see Client Tab)
This doubles the speed on all interfaces (WAN & LAN)
Best Regards

Just tried the @David_vt suggestion after buying and installing this device to replace one that was about 10 years old. Originally I was getting around 400 Mbps down (even with updated firmware) and after uninstalling the teather app and resetting the router I'm back to my usual approx 950 Mbps which is where I should be.
I tried everything and didn't understand how this could be worse than my old TP router. Doing that did the trick. Thank you!

Was stuck with low speeds of about 220-270 down from the router, hardlined, but getting 970'ish from the router. After lots of troubleshooting, uninstalled Tether and reset the router. Problem resolved.

Tested the methods above, uninstalled Tether and reset the router seemed to be the only one that works for me.

@Carl I was just about to return my new AX3000 until I read this thread. Using the tether app I was only getting 20mb downloads. After resetting the router back to factory settings and using the web-browser admin screens to configure the router instead of the Tether app I'm now getting 450mb downloads (I can get 650mb-700mb hardwired in through ethernet).
Thank you for the tips and solving this!
