Model: Archer CR700
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: v1.1.0 Build 20160812 Rel515810

ISSUE: Network consistantly dropping nearly everyday & sometimes multiple times a day.

Archer DR700 AC 1750 2.4G & 5G Dual Band Wifi

Hardware Version: V1.1 Firmware Version: v1.1.0 Build 20160812 Rel515810 <------ There hasn't been a firmware update, has there?

Looking through the community posts, I know I'm not alone. Unfortunatly, it doesnt' seem like anyone is getting any answers. Apologies for repeating (somewhat) an already posted thread, I am hoping stating all my info and issues might hopefully result in a easy fix or recommendation. I would really like to hang on as long as possible without having to spend $$$ on upgrading. I know the device is a couple years old....but it's still up to par with requirements & accomidations for me. Any recommendations or resolve is greatly apprieciated!

  • Wifi via the 2.4 AND/OR 5G network
  • Half of the time I can still log on to the router, which unconvincingly says all systems are connected and functioning just fine.
  • Expierenced on multiple devices (some not all at the same time) using either 2.4G OR 5G Wifi
  • I use as Router mode
  • No services are restricted - Network access is allowed - Devices authorized are legit - No other customization other than username/password

Looking through the log reports I have been getting Critical (3) Time Information errors. I found that my time zone was incorrect. I have corrected this and enabled SNTP as well. I will update this post if this was helpful. :)

@CMartNetwork

The critical 3/4 errors is the modem telling you that there is an issue with the internet signal.

You need to contact the internet service provider, talk to a level 2 technician (a level 1 will just see you have internet and say its not them). Inform them that you do have internet, but you have constant drops, and see numerous critical 3 errors and would like them to clear those out.

The value of power for downstream channels should be between -15dBmV and 15dBmV. If the value of power is not in that range, it means the line quality of that channel is not good. The value of power for upstream channels should be smaller than 50dBmV and the value would be between 30dBmV and 45dBmV normally. If the value of power is larger than 50dBmV, it means the line quality of that channel is not good. If there is 1 or more channels with bad line quality, the overall line quality may be bad which can cause disconnects.

@Bigdsworld

The Tether app does not support the CR700. Your computer is probably having issues accessing the CR700, use a different device like a tablet or your smartphone with a browser.
