Tether app login failure to archer c2300 v1.0
I installed the tether app on my Android mobile device and the archer c2300 router comes up. When I press on the router I received the following message: "Login failed. You may be connected to a guest network, limited by Parental Controls or your network may be unstable." I believe the issue may be the app will not allow connectivity to a mobile device that is connected to a wireless network that is password protected. I connected a free wireless network (no password protection) and the tether app connected to the archer c2300 successfully. Can there be an update pushed through the tether app to allow device connectivity with password protected wireless networks?

@Chadwick21 Were you connected to the TP-Link's Wi-Fi or to a completely different network at a different location? How you are connected to the TP-Link router matters as the error states, you can not be on the guest network you need to be connected to the Archer C2300s 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz main Wi-Fi network or the ones that come up when you first turn on the router and it boots.
If you are using another wirless network, try to use another network that is password protected. Whether a Wi-Fi network has a password or not does not affect the login, but the rules setup on the network will.

@Tony I am connected to the TP Link's wifi via my Android mobile device. I verified I am not on guest network and that there are no parental controls.

@Chadwick21 So when you stated earlied the two networks you connected to, password protected and not, in both cases you were connecting directly to the Archer C2300's Wi-Fi?
Addiitonally, what is the firmware build that your router is running?
Do you happen to have another smart phone? If so, do you get the same issue with another smart device?

@Tony No, I was connected to xfinitywifi and that wireless connection allowed the app to connect to my TP-Link router. However when I connected to my TP Link wireless connection the app did not connect to the TP-Link router.
Firmware Version: 2.0.3 Build 20180611 Rel. 77668(5553/5553)
I tried my wife's iPhone SE and ran into the same problem.

@Chadwick21 Please try or confirm the two following things:
-The router was rebooted, and connected to
-The router was factory defaulted (reset held for 15 seconds), and the Tether app was reinstalled

Using the C2300's web GUI please see if you are have linked your router to a tp-link cloud account. You will know you have if the log in prompt asks you for an email and not a username. If your router is linked to a cloud account make sure you log into the same cloud account on your tether app Then test again. If access still fails we may need to revert to email support to collect more data to provide to our system engieers so they can investigate for a solution.

@Carl Yes the TP Link router is linked to s cloud account. I am able to log into the web GUI with a cloud account. The issue still occurs.

Not sure if I missed your follow up with the system engineers but was wondering if you had an update on this issue?
Thanks.
