C2300 thinks it has latest firmware. Doesn't.

If I go on the tp-link.com website to see my C2300 (US version, bought in the last few months) router, it looks like tp-link made a new firmware version on 9/22 that added Homelink and other cool stuff. But my router STILL (in the admin web console advanced settings check my firmware) says I'm on latest version, which is from way back in March. And I have no homelink stuff in my settings. Is this router not capable of checking for new firmware correctly? It doesn't fail the check - it just says I'm on the latest a few seconds after I click the Check button. I was hoping to avoid messing with installing manually.
